12/27/2022 0 Comments Broadcom wireless driver 53![]() ![]() Ironically, none of the 2.5 GHz devices that I tested are capable of client-site measurements - iPhones, iPads, and a printer, and I don't have physical access to them, so I can't vary their location. ![]() (However, since wl's RSSI and Tx/Rx rate information on 2.4 GHz is known to be erratic, much more rigorous testing should be made before we can be confident that these results are more consistent. I put three 9dBi (2.4 GB) antennae on the Asus and was able to measure a significant improvement in RSSI for one device that operates on 2.4 GHz. I have a nice (shell script) tool for measuring RSSI on the Mac, and an ok one for the Router (much more usable with the new wl). On 5GHz the Sagemcom achieves max rates of 300 Mb/s even 2 rooms away, whereas the Asus never exceeds 145, even 1 metre away from the router. The WiFi quality seems roughly equivalent, with the Sagemcom appearing more stable. With the Sagemcom Fast5250 Home Hub 2000. Next, a brief comparison of the AC66U running Shibby 131 It seems that these two glitches only happen on the 2.4 GHz radio! The wrong RSSI values show as values greater than -20, often *positive* values. There are frequent reports of "rate of last rx pkt: -1 kbps " from sta_info. ![]() There are far fewer instances of impossibly high RSSI values being reported than with older drivers!ΔΆ. ![]()
